Secrets to small business success workshop

Tue, 08 Mar 2016 04:06:00

Small businesses in Mildura will learn how to increase their chance of winning government business at a workshop hosted by Mildura Development Corporation (MDC) today.

The Small Business Victoria workshop will be facilitated by Alan Roe, a sales professional with more than 20 years’ experience helping small and regional businesses navigate government tenders, procurements and processes.
Winning Government Business will unravel the complexities of the purchasing process, explain terminology, highlight the differences between each level of government, and demonstrate how proposals are evaluated to help people gear their businesses for success.
MDC CEO Jenny Garonne said government procurement in Australia was worth billions of dollars and was one of the largest commercial areas for small and medium businesses.
Ms Garonne said procurement processes could be daunting, but it was possible to win government business if you understood how to engage with government effectively.
“Alan has facilitated a number of workshops in Mildura and has the unique ability to help people make sense of processes and protocols they need to know to position their business to win government contracts,” she said.
The Winning Government Business workshop is on Tuesday, March 8 from 5pm to 8.30pm. Food and refreshments will be provided.
Ms Garonne said it was one of a number of small business workshops and seminars MDC was hosting this year.
“We are pleased to be the host organisation for the state government-funded sessions, and hope businesses in our region take advantage of the subsidised events,” she said.
