Terry Gange

Terry is a long-serving and well-known Mildura journalist and editor.  Born and raised at Cardross, Terry completed his schooling in Mildura before moving on to journalism and a 20-year career with Sunraysia Daily and Mildura Midweek.  Since leaving the newspaper trade, Terry’s writing interests include two history books – “A Century of Challenges” to mark the Australian Dried Fruits Association’s centenary, and “The Millewa-Mallee – An Oral History”, for the Mallee Catchment Management Authority.

Other work has included editing an Occupational Health and Safety Manual for horticulture, and a public consultation project for a major New South Wales clean energy project.  His freelance writing has been published by The Age, The Herald Sun and The Weekly Times, Sydney Sun Herald, Adelaide Advertiser, and various horticulture newspapers and he’s a regular contributor to the Mildura Living Magazine.

Jacinta Allan-Gange

Jacinta is best-known as the ABC’s former senior journalist and newsreader in Northwest Victoria but began her career at the Swan Hill Guardian newspaper.  In her 20 years with the ABC, Jacinta held almost every role at the Mildura regional station, including manager, producer, breakfast presenter and rural reporter.  She covered all of the region’s major stories in that time, ranging from the decade-long drought to the horrific 2010 flood.

An opportunity in Government prompted a four-year sojourn north in 2000 to work first as an advisor to a former Queensland Minister for Tourism, Racing and Emergency Services, and later in a strategic PR role within the Gold Coast City Council. Her experience, combined with a childhood spent in the Mallee, has given Jacinta a thorough knowledge of the region and its opportunities.
