Sea Lake preparing for 3yo kinder rollout

Parliamentary Secretary for Early Childhood Education Sonya Kilkenny visited Ouyen last Tuesday to officially open the newly upgraded Mallee Minors Childcare Centre.

The $178,779 upgrade includes extension of the building to co-locate a Three-Year-Old program and an additional reception and multipurpose area.
Ms Kilkenny said the upgraded facility would ensure families in Ouyen had access to the fantastic early childhood services they deserved.
The Victorian Government provided MTHCS with more than $157,000 towards the project through a Children’s Facilities Capital Program grant.
Mallee Track Health and Community Services (MTHCS) Chief Executive Officer Lois O’Callaghan said the upgrade would also allow speech pathology and other services to be delivered from the Centre.
Ms O’Callaghan said early years learning management was a major part of community services delivered by MTHCS.
“The first five years of children’s learning is critical to their future success. Providing well-equipped centres is essential to ensuring our early years educators have the best possible environment for delivering high-quality childcare for local families,” she added.
