Positive changes announced for Mallee Track

Mallee Track Health and Community Service (MTHCS) today launched follow-on initiatives across the health service in response to an independent review into the culture and operations, conducted alongside the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

Lois O’Callaghan, Chief Executive Officer at Mallee Track said everyone at the health service is passionate about working in the health industry and serving our local community.

“As a community focused health service, we are always looking at ways to cultivate a united workforce, underpinned by a strong culture,” she said.

“That’s why we worked with the DHHS to commission this independent review. The findings provide a roadmap for all staff at Mallee Track, coming together to focus on what drives us all; the delivery of outstanding care for our community. “

The review recognized the changes already enacted at the health service and provided recommendations in three areas:

1. Uniting the health service across campuses through exploring the option of workplace exchanges, improved communication and knowledge sharing.
2. Delivering clinical and professional best practice through training and development for staff and management.
3. Fostering a proud and inclusive culture.

“The leadership at Mallee Track transparently documented the recommendations to staff.  They outlined what has already been done and we they intend to do together with staff over the coming weeks and months.

“This is all about making Mallee Track geographically and culturally aligned and more cohesive as a team. We’re all getting on with the job to serve our community into the future and continuing our focus on better health outcomes,” Lois said.
