New parking limits at Mildura Base Hospital

New parking time limits are being introduced around Mildura Base Hospital in an effort to improve parking availability in the hospital precinct.

A new two-hour time limit is in place in carparks immediately surrounding the hospital from today.
The General Manager of Resources and Facilities Don Palazzo said there would still be ample all day parking available at the car parks across Ontario Avenue, immediately inside and outside the Mildura Landfill entrance.
He said the new measures brought Mildura Base Hospital into line with other regional hospitals.
“Finding an available park at the hospital is something people find frustrating and we hope a parking limit will improve the traffic flow,” Mr Palazzo said.
“We think restricting the length of time people can park in the busiest areas we will ensure the same vehicles don’t occupy parking bays all day and will help keep parking spaces turning over.
“We know that most people who are at the hospital for consultations or for visiting are in the grounds for less than two hours.
“The two-hour limits will encourage people who expect to be at the hospital for an extended time to park in the all-day zones.”
The new two-hour parking areas are clearly signed around Midwifery and Wards Two and Three.
There have also been extra bays set aside for disability parking, and there are now additional zones for short-term pick-up and drop-offs.
