MBH CEO moves up to new role

Mildura Base Hospital CEO Adam Stevenson will step down from the position next month to take up a new role within Ramsay Health Care.

Mr Stevenson was appointed hospital CEO late last year and said his decision to accept the new position was taken with mixed emotions.
“I can honestly say I have loved every minute of the six years I’ve worked at Mildura Base Hospital, in large measure because I was coming back to work within the community I was raised in,” Mr Stevenson said.
“I have found my absolute career passion within the health care industry and it’s been a privilege to work with so many amazing people at the hospital and in the community,” he said.
Mr Stevenson has been appointed CEO at John Flynn Private Hospital on Queensland’s Gold Coast and will finish at MBH on April 9.
He said the period since the Government decision to transition the hospital back to public management had been a challenging time for staff, including the executive team.
“It’s been an extremely difficult decision to make to leave the region and the hospital, but I also love working for Ramsay Health Care they have shown exceptional loyalty and appreciation to me and they were able to commit to me long term as a CEO.  I’m excited to continue my career with the company.”
Mr Stevenson said he was proud of how the staff and executive team had managed the changes and transition.
“I want to publicly thank all of them for the incredible work they do every day,” he said.
“As a team, they have stood tall and we have continued to provide excellent services – and that will continue to be the case with the challenges we are now facing with COVID-19.”
Ramsay Health Care has announced that Mr Malcolm Passmore, an experienced hospital Chief Executive Officer and regional operations manager, will replace Mr Stevenson until September 2020.
