Mallee Track Health and Community Service (MTHCS) has confirmed that the current doctors at Sea Lake’s Mallee Track Medical Clinic are able to meet demand.
MTHCS Chief Executive Officer Lois O’Callaghan said Dr Alex Terris was consulting for three weeks between June 24th and July 12th and had available appointments.
Dr Ros McCallum is also consulting as usual from Sea Lake three days a week.
Ms O’Callaghan said the health service and community was fortunate to have two GPs, as well as locum support when needed.
She said she was pleased to report that Dr Alex Terris had indicated he was open to discussions about continuing to work in Sea Lake until December.
“Community members are asked to plan ahead for the period of July 15th to July 26th when Dr Ros will be consulting on her own at the clinic. Dr Terris will consult from the 29th of July for two weeks.
“We have strong relationships with many locums and will continue to be able to provide appropriate GP coverage for Sea Lake,” she added.
Ms O’Callaghan said it was important that the community continued to support the medical clinic so that it was a financially viable business.
“The Clinic will continue to be open every day and there are available appointments with Dr Terris during his current three-week period as well as his two-week period at the end of July. Dr Ros also has appointments available,” she added.
