Renowned fashion stylist Anika Walker will be the guest speaker at the St Joseph’s College Mother’s Day Breakfast on Friday.
The annual event, which is in its second year, is a celebration of the mothers, grandmothers, aunties and caregivers who are part of the college community.
Ms Walker, who is the head stylist at Chadstone and fashion stylist for Mildura Living magazine, will teach the women how to style a variety of looks that could be worn for school drop off, during the day, or out to dinner and drinks.
The mother-of-three said the focus would be on how to maximise pieces, accessorise, and mix and match.
“I want each woman to walk away from the event feeling empowered,” Ms Walker said.
“I always aim to educate, and my focus is 100 per cent on building confidence in women so they can get dressed each morning with no stress attached.
“I am hoping to enlighten mums about body shape and personal style – the two topics most requested from my one-on-one styling clients.”
St Joseph’s College Principal Marg Blythman said the event was designed to make mothers feel special and appreciated.
Mrs Blythman said it was also an opportunity for the students to spend time with their mums and other important women in their lives.
“Mothers play integral roles in our homes and community, and it is important to recognise and thank them for everything they do,” she said.
“These women, who spend much of their time taking care of and providing for those they love, deserve to take time out to do something for themselves.
“We are so lucky that Anika is coming to share her knowledge and many years of fashion experience with us, and hope that every mother loves and gets a lot out of our gift to them.”
