Buronga-Gol Gol's new medical clinic opens TODAY!

The community of Buronga-Gol Gol will have its own medical clinic for the first time from this week.

The purpose-built One Health clinic on the Silver City Highway opens its doors on Monday, providing access to locally-based doctors and medical services for the first time.
One Health manager Trudi Sakkas said the development would fill a growing need in the Buronga-Gol Gol community.
“With a population of nearly 3000 people in Buronga-Gol Gol, and growing, people are really excited about the chance to get the medical services they need in their own local community,” Ms Sakkas said.
“We are thrilled to have two popular and well-known local doctors, Dr Graham Gordon and Dr Jane Neyland, who are providing the full range of general practitioner services from Monday,” she said.
“Dr Neyland is also an obstetrician and gynaecologist, so we’re thrilled that local families will be able to have access to those services as well.”
One Health is a new Sunraysia-based medical centre operator focussed on meeting the health needs of the Buronga-Gol Gol communities.
“We’ve had a great response so far, with both doctors having bookings right from day one.  We have had inquiries and bookings from people from as far away as Robinvale who are wanting to take advantage of a brand new clinic in a location that is much more convenient for them,” Ms Sakkas said.
The clinic will open with two doctors, a practice nurse and reception staff, but One Health is planning to expand two four doctors in coming months.
St John of God Pathology services will also be available on-site, as will a range of visiting Allied Health and Specialist services.
“While people have been prepared to travel into Mildura to access services in the past, especially with medical services, it’s much better if they are locally-based,” Ms Sakkas said.
“It’s really exciting to be part of something new and a service that people are responding so positively to.”
